Dr. Dog
When a band can manage to at separate times evoke Neil Young, Steely Dan, the Flaming Lips, and the Apples in Stereo, and still retain a sound that's all their own, all I can really do is prostrate myself and surrender to their sonic majesty. If that's not enough to convince you, the cover for their new album appears to be some sort of female gunslinger scene embroidered onto something. Freaking marvelous. I invite you to enjoy a couple tracks from Dr. Dog, a band poised to take my top 5 by storm.
